Director of Material Management
Hillsboro, KSJob Summary: The Director of Materials Management is responsible for the strategic planning, procurement, storage, and distribution of materials and supplies across the organization. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing practices, efficient inventory control, and optimal supply chain management to support operational goals.

- Develop and implement materials management strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Oversee the procurement process, including vendor management, contract negotiations, and purchase order management.
- Oversee and manage all production scheduling activities and personnel
- Oversee and manage all shipping related activities and personnel
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure supply chain efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with departments to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
- Optimize inventory management systems and maintain accurate records of materials transactions.
- Lead and mentor a team of materials management professionals, providing guidance and development opportunities.
- Implement cost-saving initiatives through supplier partnerships and process improvements.
- Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business administration, logistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in materials management, supply chain management, or procurement leadership.
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes, inventory management, and procurement best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and supply chain management software.
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
- Professional certification (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or equivalent).
- Master's degree in related field
