Painter (Full Time - Non-Exempt)

ROLE: This position is responsible for painting parts and trailers for the production assemblies. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Prime and paint surfaces, using paint spray guns and motorized sanders
2. Perform painting functions and paint of production assemblies according to production rates with minimal supervision
3. Inspect for accuracy and overall appearance of paint job
4. Inspect completed work to ensure proper functioning
5. Maintain a safety awareness attitude and remain alert to potential hazards
6. Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization by keeping tools, material and equipment in proper places
7. Ensure proper safety procedures are followed and personal protective equipment is worn at all times
8. Use and move ladders accordingly
9. Utilize equipment and material to maximize production and minimize costs
10. Provide production support in other areas as needed
11. Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of principles of painting processes and quality control. The ability to recognize properly and improperly cleaned and prepared surfaces. The ability to recognize and solve practical problems or issues as they arise.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 1-2 years of previous autobody or production painting experience and certification (preferred).

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Communicate effectively, work with others in a team environment, organization and ability to work under deadlines, problem solve along with the ability to adjust and learn from mistakes, strong attention to detail, a positive attitude and willing to learn and participate in a changing environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will be exposed to temperature extremes and shop elements such as dust, odors, fumes or loud noise. This working environment is not climate controlled. The employee must be able to wear a respirator mask and protective suit for up to six hours per day depending on workload.
